Jacqueline (Jackie) Rice has over 20 years of global legal, risk management, and compliance experience in manufacturing and retail. Her legal experience includes commercial transactions, corporate governance, advertising and marketing, compliance, food safety, vendor and enterprise risk, privacy, and information security. Jackie brings broad experience advising C-suite executives, senior management teams, and Boards of Directors. She serves as a Senior Advisor with the Hawksbill Group and a Board Member on the Audit and Compensation Committees at Adtran, a NASDAQ-listed leading provider of telecommunications networking equipment and internetworking products.
Jackie most recently served as executive vice president, chief risk and compliance officer for Target where she held responsibility for the centralized oversight of enterprise risk management, compliance and ethics, vendor risk management, food safety and corporate security. Through her leadership, she evolved and enhanced enterprise risk and compliance standards to protect Target and its stakeholders, including guests, team members and vendors.
Before joining Target, Jackie served as senior legal counsel and chief compliance officer for General Motors (GM), overseeing various compliance areas including export and sanctions compliance, data privacy, anti-bribery, ethics, and internal investigations. During her 17-year tenure she held numerous positions - first as a lawyer supporting GM's captive retail finance company and later as legal counsel to multiple business units, including Buick Motor Division, Information Technology, and Government Relations, among others. She brings a unique global leadership perspective to her work, having lived overseas supporting GM Holden in Melbourne, Australia and GM Europe in Zurich, Switzerland.
Jackie is a native of Detroit, Michigan and earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Law Review. She obtained her undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University and remains an avid Spartan fan.Venue
